Third Grade News – March 16, 2026

Important Information

Tuesday is St. Patrick’s Day. It is also Green Day at Trinity. Make sure to wear something green!

“Stuffed” Animal Reports are  due on Tuesday, March 24th.

There is no school on Friday because of a Professional Development Day.

All instruments need to come to school on lesson days and on Tuesday and Fridays (band rehearsal days). Please check your student’s email for the current schedule.

Please make sure Chromebooks are fully charged.

Academics

Math: We are learning about time. We have been working on a math packet to review concepts taught in first and second grades. For children that complete the packet by Tuesday, I am giving 10 extra test points. For any one else that turns in their packet, I will give 1 point for every 2 pages completed. In class, we will focus on telling time to the minute, a.m., p.m., and elapse time.

ELA: For Unit 4, Weeks 3 and 4 our essential question is “How do animals adapt to challenges in their habitat?” The following is a list of everything we will be covering in ELA, including our vocabulary.  There are no spelling words this week.

Social Studies: We are finishing up our chapter on government. We are learning about the different levels of government.

Science: We are learning about life cycles. Students will investigate mosquito life cycles and habitats and discover the role of mosquitoes in carrying diseases such as malaria.

Religion: This week we are learning about Hezekiah, one of the kings of the Southern Kingdom and from the Book of Daniel, the story of the three men in the fiery furnace.
