Second Grade-Week of September 1, 2025-By Mrs. Nekota for Mrs. Ryan

Welcome to all second graders and their families! My name is Mrs. Nekota, and I am very much looking forward to being Mrs. Ryan’s leave-replacement teacher.

During our first week of the school year, we will be

  • Learning more about our Lord and how to communicate with Him through prayer
  • Discussing and complying with behavioral expectations
  • Practicing kindness and friendship to all
  • Listening, speaking, reading, and writing across curriculum areas
  • Identifying and using the letters of the alphabet, particularly consonants
  • Reviewing our recognition and knowledge of single-digit numbers and applying our knowledge when adding and subtracting
  • Reflecting on our names and personal characteristics and preferences
  • Demonstrating knowledge of the American flag, pledge, and a patriotic song
  • Recalling and writing about our favorite summer memories
  • Developing an awareness of basic geographic terms and concepts
  • Recognizing and using our five senses
  • Taking beginning-of-year ELA benchmark assessments

We look forward to attending Chapel on the first day of school.
