This is the final week of the current school year at Trinity Lutheran School. Congratulations to your child for his or her kindness and hard work. It has been a joy and honor to be each child’s teacher.
There will be a noon dismissal on Friday. We will be celebrating the summer birthdays of Kabir, Mackenzie, Omari, and Sebastian and attending Chapel in the morning that day. Offering envelopes will be provided on Thursday to take home. There will be no Chapel on Wednesday.
There will be a spelling test and a math test on Module 22 this Wednesday.
This week, we will be
- Continuing to focus on Psalms and prayer with an emphasis on asking questions, making decisions, the wonder of the Lord’s works, and waiting on Him in Religion
- Finishing up Unit 6 in our Wonders curriculum, including myths, poetry (metaphors, rhyme schemes, stanzas, and rhythm), phonemes (substitution, reversal, and addition), vowel-team syllables with spelling changes, r-controlled vowels, words with three or more syllables, adverbs, prepositions and prepositional phrases, decodable readers, vocabulary development, reading comprehension, high-frequency words, and cursive writing in ELA
- Completing Module 22, “Understand Fractions,” in Math
- Reflecting on ancient Greece, Father’s Day, friendship, and vacation fun in Social Studies
- With the arrival of summer, learning more about the insect world, dolphins, animals and sunburns, and the fastest ocean animals in Science
Specials will include Library, Art, SEL, PE, Spanish, and Music.
May our precious Lord bless our final week in second grade together,
Mrs. Nekota
