We are definitely on the homeward stretch!
- This week, students will be enjoying a high-energy, fitness program in the gym on Wednesday presented by KerboomKidz. In order for your child to participate, please complete and return the permission slip sent home last week no later than tomorrow, Tuesday, if you have not done so already. Thank you.
- On Friday morning, students will be participating in TLS’s annual field day in the playground across the street. Their teams wear either red or blue. Information was sent home last week.
- Mite boxes given out several weeks ago by Lutheran Women are due by this Wednesday, June 3. Thank you.
- Omari, Kabir, Sebastian, and Mackenzie have summer birthdays. We would like to celebrate them all in the morning on the last day of school, June 12. I will be sending more information/details shortly.
- Finally (and very importantly), please send yearbooks back to school with your child so he or she can participate in the yearbook signing event on Thursday. For yearbooks returned Tuesday, three stars; Wednesday, two stars; Thursday, one star. Thanks!!!
There will be a spelling test this Wednesday.
This week, we will be
- Focusing on Psalms and prayer with an emphasis on forgiveness, guidance, and praise in Religion
- Continuing with Unit 6 in our Wonders curriculum, including drama and myths, phoneme addition and segmentation, CVCe and final syllables, prefixes and suffixes, articles (plus this/that/these/those), adjectives that compare, locating and citing text evidence, idioms, theme, dialogue, scene organization, comparing and contrasting, decodable readers, vocabulary development, reading comprehension, and high-frequency words in ELA
- Completing Module 21, “Two- and Three-Dimensional Shapes,” and diving into Module 22, “Understand Fractions,” in Math
- Learning about ancient Greece, water safety, Flag Day, and Yellowstone National Park in Social Studies
- Exploring the properties of soil and heat waves in Science
Specials will include Library, Art, Critters, Spanish, Music, and Computer. We will be attending Chapel on Wednesday. Your child will be provided with an offering envelope on Tuesday to take home.
