I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Your child will have the opportunity to shop with our class at the Santa Shop and Holiday Boutique this Thursday, December 4. Payment instructions were recently sent home. There is also a Santa Breakfast on Saturday, December 6, from 10:00 am until noon.
There will be a test on digraphs and silent letters on Wednesday, a spelling test on Thursday, and a Module 8 Math test on Friday.
This week, we will be
- Beginning work on Advent calendars and learning more about the births of John the Baptist and Jesus and the visit of the Wise Men, particularly the significance of the star they followed, in Religion
- Moving into Week 4 of Unit 2 in our Wonders curriculum with a focus on predictions, characters, plot sequencing, antonyms, consonant digraphs, rhymes, suffixes, and plural nouns within the context of animal texts/stories and fables in ELA
- Adding dollars to our study of money in Math
- Exploring the origins and nature of our own government with a peek at governments around the world in Social Studies
- Deepening our understanding of stars and cold, winter weather, discovering, for instance, why snow is white, how polar animals survive in the cold, and the location of the coldest place on earth, in Science

- Our Stars
- My Story Bible – “Follow the Star”
Specials will be Library, Art, Critters or SEL, PE, Spanish, Music, and Computers. We will be attending Chapel on Wednesday. Your child will be provided with an offering envelope on Tuesday to take home.
