Last week we began a new unit of study: “Exploring Our World.” This unit will have us exploring a variety of concepts on a weekly basis that have to do with our planet Earth. Last week, we learned about the water cycle. This week, we will discuss plant life on Earth. We will talk about the needs and the importance of plants and the ways in which they grow. We will learn more about the parts of a flower and create a greenhouse out of a sandwich bag for bean plants to grow in. Our thematic unit on plants will also enable us to review numbers 1-20 as we count flowers and review geometric shapes as we create a flower collage. In the art center this week, our art project will be to create paper mache bowls decoupaged with floral patterns. These bowls will be on display at our Art Show in May. Our letter of the week is letter Xx. We are looking forward to another exciting week in Pre-K!
