Mrs. Leahy’s Lovely Kindergarten Class – Week of 4/27

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend despite these confusing temperatures!!

Language Arts- This week we will continue Unit 9 of our Wonder’s series. Our essential question is, What do good citizens do? We will read, Hen Hears Gossip. We will learn sight words – has, & play and focus on the long i sounds. We will continue to determine the missing sounds in CVC words, count how many words in a sentence and read in small groups and have reading homework. We will continue to review all the different word families and in grammar, we will learn about adjectives, we will use numbers to describe nouns.

Language Arts Centers- This weeks centers will be reading and CVC words.

Math- This week we will continue Module 15- Describe Positions of 3D Shapes and have our test on Wednesday.

Math Centers- We will practice 3D shapes.

Jesus Time- We have been reading about Jesus rising from the dead and spending time with his disciples before going back to heaven. We will complete the whole New Testament of the Bible this week.

Science: Our caterpillars arrived early so they have been with us and they are now in their chrysalis’s. We are waiting patiently for them to come out as butterflies, it should happen this week! We are learning about the life cycle of a butterfly and how butterflies are symmetrical. We will monitor the changes and look forward to them coming out of their chrysalis’s!

Social Studies: We will learn about the first American Flag that was made.

Answer: Because she will “let it go, let it go.”
