5th Grade: This week we will be finishing Number the Stars and we will be taking a test on the novel.  The students really enjoyed this book and all the cliff hangers, all while staying invested in the learning about the Holocaust.  We had some solid conversations about the history of it all and the students really gained insight to this tragedy.

6th Grade:  We will continue reading and writing with Ground Zero.  I am noticing we need some help with writing, so each week we will be focusing on a paragraph using RACES to reintroduce our writing strategies.

7th Grade: We will continue reading and writing with Restart.

8th Grade:  Our 8th Grade field trip to the Anne Frank Museum is Friday and in preparation we will be watching My Best Friend Anne Frank.  This once in a lifetime experience connects to our novel Refugee, The Diary of Anne Frank, which we read later this year and the Social Studies curriculum which has a unit on World War II.  We are honored to be taking the students for a second time.
