ARTrageous Adventures…in the Art Room ~ Week of 1/12/26

This Week in Art

PreK ~~ the class will illustrate a page from E. J. Keats book A Snowy Day by painting a beautiful sky with colored shaving cream.  Next they will illustrate Peter’s footsteps using blue paint and stamp colored snowflakes in the sky.

Kindergarten ~ is busy working on a snowman collage.  They are adding colored hats, scarves and all the trimmings to give their snowmen lots of personality!

Gr. 1 ~ will be learning about all the different types of sculpture.  This week they will start their coil, clay pots.

Gr. 2 ~ is learning about how they can illustrate the element of space in a Winter landscape.  We are using tints of colors and varying the sizes of the shapes we are gluing onto our collages to illustrate background, middle ground and foreground.

Gr. 3 ~ this class has just painted a beautiful wintry watercolor background for a landscape of Winter birch trees. They will add lines and shading for texture and dimension this week.

Gr/ 4 ~ the children are creating peaked and flat-roofed structures for their lesson in architecture.  This week they will be adding architectural details with markers and construction paper.

Gr. 5 ~ learned about figurative sculptures using aluminum foil.  They have formed their human figures and will be adding assorted assemblage to create a person doing an action.

Gr. 6 ~ will be using chalk pastels to illustrate the Northern Lights onto a a self-made calendar.

Gr. 7 ~ is creating cardboard roll abstract sculptures.  This week they will learn how to apply different types of assemblage techniques for construction.

Gr. 8 ~ this is the absolute last class for adding details onto the gingerbread house drawings the students have been working on to illustrate one point perspective.

Art Elective ~ we are working on popsicle stick sculptures
