3rd Grade News – March 2, 2026

Important Information

We are going to the Scholastic Book Fair on Tuesday morning. The children are excited to browse the books and pick out their favorites.

Please make sure instruments are brought to school for both Band and lessons.

Information for our “stuffed” animal reports went home last week. The Parent Signature Page is due on Tuesday.

March is Women’s History Month. This week we will learn about Sonya Sotomayor, Jane Goodall, Kamala Harris, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, and Clara Barton.

Academics

Math: Our Math test is on Tuesday. It will cover addition and subtraction.   After, we are beginning our unit on perimeter.

ELA: For Unit 4, Weeks 1 and 2 our essential question is “ How can you use what you know to help others?” The following is a list of everything we will be covering in ELA, including our vocabulary and spelling words.

Social Studies: We are learning about the different level of government; federal, state, and local..

Science: Students will be exploring animal life cycles by thinking about their birthday buddies—all the animals that were born on the exact same day as they were born—and what happens to those birthday buddies over the course of their lives.

Religion: We are learning about Rehoboam and Jeroboam, and also how God provides for Elijah and the Widow.
