Hello Fabulous Fourth Grade Families!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Below you will find what we will be doing for each subject this week:
ELA: This week we will finish our class read-aloud, I Survived the California Wildfires by Lauren Tarshis. There will be a spelling and comprehension test on 11/25. We will be working on the skill of characterization. We will be starting our fictional narrative writings. Students will need to write at least 3 paragraphs. In grammar we will be continuing our unit on nouns.
Math: This week in Math we continue Module 8, 2 digit by 2 digit multiplication. There will be a quiz and test following the Thanksgiving break. Helpful handouts, videos, charts, reteach pages, and the HW can all be found on Google Classroom and are excellent resources.
Religion: In religion this week we begin Unit 1-God Creates the World and Calls a Nation. We will be focusing on the book of Genesis.Social Studies: In S.S. we continue Chapter 3, Colonial New York. We will be learning about the early New York colony. There will be a S.S. project on Colonial New York due by 11/25.
Science: This week we will be working on a STEAM project in correlation to the book The Plump and Perky Turkey by Teresa Bateman. Students will be constructing paper turkeys that must stand up on their own two feet.
