Welcome 4th Grade Families! 

We are off to a fantastic start of the school year! Please be aware that Back to School Night will be on Thursday, September 23rd at 6:30pm via Zoom.  This week we will be focusing on the following topics: 

ELA- This week in reading we will be focusing on Authors Purpose, as well as writing short stories. We will have an ELA test on Friday. Please be sure to check your child’s google classroom for this week’s spelling and vocab words. The sections for the test are as follows: comprehension, grammar, vocabulary and spelling. The comprehension section will be based on our shared text, My brother Martin, by Christine King Farris. We will also continue our first class read-aloud, Because of Winn-Dixie by Kate Dicamillo.

Math- This week in Math we will begin our first chapter of GoMath, focusing on place value, multiplication, and expressions.

Social Studies- This week in S.S. we will continue our study of the geography of New York State, focusing on its location. 

Science– We will begin our first unit of science Waves of Sound.  

Religion- We will continue to work on the memorization of this years Bible verse, Ephesians 5: 8b-10, and explore sin and forgiveness.

Monday- Computer (9:57-10:37) 

Tuesday- Physical Education (1:32-2:12) 

Wednesday- Chapel (8:30-9:10), Physical Education (10:40-11:20), Music (1:32-2:12) 

Thursday- Spanish (9:13-9:54), Art (11:20-12:00)

Friday- Library (9:13-9:54), SEL/Critter Room (1:32-2:12) 

We have lunch from 12:00-12:30, and recess from 12:40-1:10 every day.
