Happy October! 

 

I cannot believe we are in the last week of October! To help us celebrate the fall we will celebrate Pumpkin Day on Friday. Please remember to dress in Orange to help us celebrate the fall. 

 

 This week we will be focusing on the following topics: 

 

ELA- This week in reading we will be focusing on tall tales, hyperboles, and proper nouns. In writing, we will be focusing on crafting narrative pieces. We will have an ELA test on Friday. Please be sure to check your child’s google classroom for this week’s spelling and vocab words. The sections for the test are as follows: comprehension, grammar, vocabulary and spelling. The comprehension section will be based on our shared text, Stormalong

Math- This week we finish Chapter 2. We will have a quiz on Wednesday and test on Friday. Quiz corrections will be due on Thursday. 

 

Social Studies- This week in S.S. we begin Chapter 2, Three Worlds Meet

 

Science– We will begin our second unit of study, The Birth of Rocks. 

 

Religion- This week in religion we will be exploring the Old Testament story of Cain and Abel .
