Merry Christmas! And Happy New Year!

I hope that you had a restful and needed break! I am looking forward to all the learning in this new year!

This week we will be focusing on the following topics:

ELA- This week we are completing lesson 11 from the Journeys curriculum. Our shared text is a nonfiction article on Hurricanes. Our skill for the week is Text-Features and Graphics. Our spelling words for the week are compound words. The grammar is frequently confused words. We will be working on persuasive paragraph writing for this week’s writing. There will be a spelling and grammar quiz on Friday.

Math- This week we will begin Chapter 6, Fractions. As always, reteach pages will be posted on google classroom for additional practice. Please continue to work on fact fluency at home.

Social Studies- This week we will continue Chapter 3 from our S.S. textbook.

Science– This week we will begin our new unit of study: The Human Machine.

Religion- This week in religion we will be focusing on Epiphany.

Please always reach out if you have any questions or concerns. The best way to reach me is through talking points, and I am looking forward to an amazing week learning with an amazing class. Merry Christmas!
