Happy Spirit Week and Lutheran Schools Week! We will be having special surprises throughout the week to help us show our Trinity Spirit!

This week we will be focusing on the following topics:

ELA- We will continue to read from our read-aloud The Holiday Concert by Andrew Clements. Our skill for the week is understanding and identifying plot. We will be working out of a Scholastic Storyworks this week, reading Home by Anne Lambelet. For writing, we will be writing persuasive letters.

Math- This week we start chapter 7, Adding and Subtracting Fractions. As always, reteach pages will be posted on google classroom for additional practice. Please continue to work on fact fluency at home. We have started using Splash Learning in class, however it is an excellent resource for additional practice at home. Directions will be going home for how to connect for at home access.

Social Studies- This week we will continue Chapter 3 from our S.S. textbook. We will begin to close our unit with a final activity. Students will be making a brochure highlighting what life in the colonies in the 1700’s was like.

We will be continuing our Black History Month Banner Project. Each student will continue to research their person and begin drafting their banner.

Science- This week we will continue our unit of study: The Human Machine.

Religion- This week in religion we will be finishing the Armor of God (Eph. 6:8-10), and sharing our Armor of God. We will also be having a visit from Pastor Hopkins on Tuesday. As well as celebrating Lutheran Schools week.

Please always reach out if you have any questions or concerns. The best way to reach me is through talking points, and I am looking forward to an amazing week learning with an amazing class.

Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. Ephesians 5: 8b-10
