Hello Parents! I hope everyone enjoyed the warm weather this weekend! Please continue to complete the daily attestations upon arrival.
We are continuing with theme 1 “Ready for school” and starting unit 3 titled “Learning Together”. BIG Idea: I work and play with my friends at school. Knowledge Focus: Children learn the expectations, routines, and behaviors of school. Social-Emotional focus: cooperation. The theme vocabulary words include: learn, partners and play. Math vocabulary words include: longer, shorter and taller.
We will be learning the letter Aa, color green, rectangle and number 3. We will be reading the books “The Pledge of Allegiance”, “My Friends” and “Mouse’s 1st Day of School”. We will also be reading the “Apples and Bananas!” Scholastic weekly reader this week.
For Jesus time, we will continue to sing the song “Jesus Loves Me” and discuss the last remaining days of creation. We will read the stories of Day 4, 5 and 6, color scenes in our creation story book and coloring sheets. We will continue to recite our Johnny Appleseed prayer before snack and lunch for the remainder of September.
We will continue to discuss all things apples such as taker a deeper look inside an apple at our science table, discuss the three different colors of apple, discuss where apples come from and complete another apple craft that will be displayed on Classdojo. We will also be making a sunflower plate as our color craft.
