Hello Parents! Please continue to send in a light jacket with your child each day. We will go outside any chance we can get! Also, please be sure to continue to complete the daily attestations each morning.
We are continuing theme 7 and starting unit 3 called “Our Weather”. BIG Idea: The weather affects what I wear and do each day. Knowledge Focus: Children learn about their environment by investigating characteristics of the natural world. Social-Emotional focus: Curiosity. The theme vocabulary words include: clouds, cloudy, rainy, sunny, windy and weather. Math vocabulary words include: measure, temperature and thermometer.
We will continue to review the alphabet, numbers 1-20, shapes and colors. We will be reading the books “What Will The Weather Be Like Today?”, “Weather” and “ABC I Like Me!”
We will continue to keep a close eye on our caterpillars and seeds we planted as they are growing and changing. We will discuss the different life cycle stages. We will also read the “A Big Day for Ducklings!” Scholastic weekly reader.
On Monday, we will be learning about Rainbows and conducting a science experiment that shows the student how a rainbow is formed using their markers, water and a paper towel. The colors of the rainbow should spread from one side to the other when slightly submerged in both water cups on each end. We will also continue to make our Mother’s Day crafts!
For Jesus time, we will begin to learn and recite The Lord’s Prayer.
