Hello Parents! I hope everyone enjoyed the much needed Spring Break! I look forward to the warm weather coming! Please be sure to continue to complete the daily attestations each morning.

We are starting theme 7 “Nature All Around Us” and starting unit 1 called “How Do Plants Grow?” BIG Idea: I can plant a seed and watch how it grows. Knowledge Focus: Children learn about their environment by investigating characteristics of the natural world. Social-Emotional focus: Curiosity. The theme vocabulary words include: flower, seeds, petals, plant, roots, tree and vine. Math vocabulary words include: add and count.

We will finish up the letter Xx, start letter Yy on Wednesday and continue to review numbers 1-20, shapes and colors. We will be reading the books “Growing Vegetable Soup”, “What the Sun Sees/What the Moon Sees” and “Counting in the Garden”. We will also read the “Go, Seeds, Go!” Scholastic weekly reader.

Also, we received caterpillars over the spring break and will be discussing the life cycle of a butterfly! We will keep a close eye on how they grow.

For Jesus Time, we will be discussing Peter and the Cripple man.

As a class craft, the children will be doing Y is for yellow for their ABC book, various flower crafts and start a butterfly symmetry craft.
