Hello Parents and Happy March! One month closer to warmer weather.

Reminder: This week is Read Across America. We will be celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday with a different theme each day.

Monday – Wear something blue and/or red.

Wednesday – Get Wacky! Wear your clothes inside out, backwards, or mismatched!

Friday – Wear Pajamas or comfy clothes.

We are finishing theme 5 “Imagine It, Make It” and starting our last and final unit 4 called “Art All Around Us”. BIG Idea: I enjoy art that other people create. Knowledge Focus: Children learn how imagination and creativity shape our world. Social-Emotional focus: Initiative. The theme vocabulary words include: appreciate, art, artist, artwork, dance, design, music and sculpture. Math vocabulary words include: area, bigger and smaller.

We will be learning the letter Tt and continue to review numbers 1-20, shapes and colors. We will be reading the books “Too Loud Lily”, “Dots! Dots! Dots! At The Museum”, “White Rabbit’s Color Book”  and “Harold and The Purple Crayon”. We will read the Artist Scholastic weekly reader book this week.

For Jesus time, we will be discussing the story of how Jesus heals a blind man and a deaf man.

As a class craft, the children will be doing T is for Tree. They will glue tissue paper onto the letter T to create a tree for their ABC book. We will also be doing a bunch of different activities/crafts in honor of Read Across America this week and Dr. Seuss’ birthday!
