Hello Parents! I hope everyone had a very happy Thanksgiving and enjoyed this little break.

For the month of December, we will not be following the Big Day curriculum. Instead, we will be learning about all things Christmas! This week we will be focusing on the Gingerbread Man. We will read two variations of this story and compare the two using a Venn diagram. As our seasonal craft, we will be creating our own Gingerbread Man.

Our letter of the week is Jj. For our class craft, the children will be doing J is for Jellybean. They will glue pieces of jellybeans (paper) onto their letter J. For math, we will learn about the number 12 and continue reading the book Carlo Likes Counting for practice.

For the entire month of December, we will discuss the story of Jesus’ birth. We will start off this week with the angel visiting Mary. Since this is the first week in Advent, we will be creating an Advent wreath craft. Please have your child “light” the purple candle on their wreath they will bring home this week. We will also start a Christmas Story coloring book.

Our new prayer for this month will be the third verse of Away in a Manger: Be near me Lord Jesus I ask you to stay, close by me forever and love me I pray. Bless all the dear children in your tender care, and take us to Heaven to live with you there.
