Hello Parents and Happy New Year! I am so happy we are officially done with 2020. I hope 2021 brings everyone such positivity and a fresh start. I also hope everyone had a great 2 week break. It was much needed!

For the month of January, we will be going back to following the Big Day curriculum book. We are starting with the theme, “Awesome Animals!” and the first unit which is called “All Kinds of Animals.” BIG Idea: I live in a world full of animals. Knowledge Focus: Children learn about life science through the exploration of animals and animal life cycles. Social-Emotional focus: Attention. The theme vocabulary words include: animal, climb, feathers, fly, fur, scales, shell, slither and swim. Math vocabulary words include: height, length and order.

We will be learning the letter Mm and #15. We will be reading the books “Biggest, Strongest, Fastest”, “Roar! A Noisy Counting Book”, “Is Your Mama a Llama?” and “A Snowy Day” . For Jesus time, we will be learning about epiphany and the wise men. We will read the Happy New Year! Scholastic Weekly reader book.

As a class craft, the children will be doing M is for mountain and using popsicle sticks and cotton balls to display a mountain with snow on top of it for their ABC book.
