Week 7
“It is better to offer no excuse than a bad one.” – George Washington
Our Me Collages are due on Thursday. If you have any questions, please let me know.
Scholastic Book orders are due on Tuesday. If you need the link, look at last week’s blog.
The author for Gwendolyn the Graceful Pig will be here on Thursday. The children and I are looking forward to meeting a published author.
There is no school on Friday because it is a professional conference day.
We are starting a new Read Aloud this week. We are reading The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate. We are working on personal narratives. There are no spelling words this week, and we are not starting a new story in our basal reader. We are not having any ELA tests this week.
In Social Studies, we are learning about the history of Mexico.
In Science, we are taking our first quiz on identifying problems. Because this is a new series, and it requires some background knowledge that we have not covered, I am going to be doing the quiz with the children. I will be reading each questions and discussing the possible answers. Together as a class we will come up with the correct answer. Everyone who is paying attention will do very well on this quiz.
In Math, we are taking our continuing to work on reading and interpreting data on different kinds of charts. Additionally, there is a worksheet that goes home each day.
In Religion, we are focusing on what it means to be a christian. Our memory this week in Hosea-Malachi. The test is Wednesday.
