There will be a vocabulary test on Unit 3 on Friday, October 29th. Much of the homework will be vocabulary.
This week we are finishing up our novels in 6th Grade ( Freak the Mighty) and 8th (The Outsiders) and are continuing to read the The Witch of Blackbird Pond in 7th Grade.
There will quizzes on what we have read so far in the novels in all grades on Monday, October 25. All the readings were done in class.
6th ELA: We are going to discuss conflict in the novel and if we finish this week, theme. Students are going to continue working on adjectives and adverbs and will culminate in a poem…using both parts of speech.
7th ELA: The seventh graders are looking at life in early colonial America that studies political problems, courtship, class, prejudice and religious strife. Students will review adverbs.
8th ELA: Students in eighth grade are reading their novel and progressing. We will be talking about symbolism, conflict and theme this week. We will continue studying adverbs.
7th Grade Religion: This week the students are going to research religions and present their findings to a class. They will have a memory quiz on Thursday. Galatians 2:20.
