This week: November Book Project is due Thursday, December 3: students should select a December book for a project which is due Tuesday, January 5.
There will be a test on Vocabulary, unit 5 on Friday. Much of the homework this week is vocabulary.

6th Grade ELA: In addition to vocabulary, this week we are going to read two stories about immigrants trying to balance pride in heritage and fitting in. “Name/Nombres” by Julia Alvarez and “The All American Slurp” boy Lensey Namioka. We will work on some reading comprehension skills. Students will create a Christmas poem.

7th Grade ELA: Students in seventh grade will read two stories about Chinese immigrants. The first is “Ribbons” by Laurence Yep, and the other is an excerpt from The Joy Luck Club, “Two Kinds,” by Amy Tan. We will work on vocabulary.

8th Grade ELA: This week we are going to begin Flowers For Algernon. Students will study intelligence and acceptance of others. In addition we will work on our vocabulary.

7th Grade Religion: We are working on unit 3 this week. We will have a memory quiz on Hebrews 11:3
