STUDENTS IN 6TH AND 8TH GRADE SHOULD HAVE SELECTED A BOOK TO READ FOR THEIR INDEPENDENT BOOK PROJECT, WHICH IS DUE ON DECEMBER 1ST. 7TH GRADE’S PROJECT IS DUE DECEMBER 7TH.

There will be a vocabulary test on unit 4 on Friday, November 12. Much of the homework is vocabulary.

6th Grade ELA: We will review proof reading skills. Last week, we were unable to begin the short story, “The Stray.” We will do so this week and create an poster for a lost pet.

7th Grade ELA: The seventh graders are still reading The Witch of Blackbird Pond. This week we will look at and identify the conflict in the story and finally the theme. The students will have their final quiz when we end the story, probably on Monday, November, 15.

8th Grade ELA: The students in eighth grade will read an excerpt by Maya Angelou from I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. They will write a memory piece using imagery.

7th Grade Religion: We are finishing up unit 2. Students will prepare for a unit exam on Friday, 12 by beginning a review packet. Due to Veteran’s Day, we will have our memory quiz on Tuesday, November 9.
