FEBRUARY BOOK PROJECT IS DUE ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 3. FORM IS ON GOOGLE CLASSROOM.

6th Grade ELA: We are continuing to read informational texts and summarizing them. We will read about African American Scientist Dr. Gladys B. West- inventor of GPS- and others. Students will create an opinion essay on whether to stop using paper money.

7th Grade ELA: In honor of African American Month the seventh graders will read an excerpt from Alex Haley’s Roots. The excerpt explains how Mr. Haley traced his ancestors to a village in Africa. When finished the students will work on summarizing the text. We will work on another essay.

8th Grade ELA: The eighth graders will read about the African American inventor Gladys B. West. I would also like them to read Haley’s essay on his quest to find his African ancestor. We will end the week with an essay.

7th Grade Religion: Students will review the story of Sophie Scholl and her faith and conviction against the Nazis’ crimes against humanity. We will continue to read unit 5 in our program. There will be a memory quiz on Tuesday. Scripture is on google classroom.
