We enjoyed a wonderful first week of nursery school.  The children all adjusted well to being in school.  They are a lovely group of children. We are going to have a great year together!

This week we will explore Lessons 6-10, “Wonder About Five Senses”, from our Mother Goose Time Curriculum.  This unit of study focuses on the five senses.  When children engage in multiple senses: sight, sound, taste, touch, and smell, they process and retain information more easily.  The sense of sight  can help build skills, such as literacy, patterning and observation.  The sense of hearing allows children to strengthen their listening skills.  When children explore their sense of taste and smell, they understand their own preferences and explore new experiences.  Touch allows children to explore new textures and practice using their hands.  Our five senses help children learn and make connections.

In addition to the five senses, this week we will also introduce Letter Aa and basic concepts like circle, blue and kindness.
