Joke of the week: How does a scientist freshen her breath?

Language Arts- This week we will review Lesson 28 of our Journey’s series. Our essential question is, Why is it important to help your friends? We will read, The Little Engine That Could and You Can Do It, Curious George. As we read the stories we will focus on understanding characters, conclusions and predicting. We will be learning 6 new sight words: look, very, their, saw, put, out. We will also review the letter sounds for /v/ and /z/. In grammar, we will discuss subject-verb agreement.

This weeks language arts centers will focus on word families, CVC words, and writing sight words, and reading sentences.

Math- In math we will continue working Chapter 10- 3 Dimensional Shapes; spheres, cubes, cylinders, and cones.

Quick Math- This weeks math centers will involve 3D shapes.

Science- We will learn about critters in our backyard and the life cycle of a plant. We will also plant our own plants and help them grow the rest of the year!

Jesus Time- We will continue to read our Children’s Beginner Bible Stories, we love reading this book! After each story the children look forward to watching a video pertaining to the story we read and connecting what we read to the video!
