Joke of the Week: What is a bunny’s motto?
Language Arts- This week we continue Unit 3 of our Journey’s series, lesson 12. Our essential question is, What do animals do when the weather changes? We will read, Storm is Coming! and Snow. As we read the stories we will focus on understanding characters and conclusions. We will learn new sight words, with & my and review the letter/sound Nn and we will blend and build words. In grammar, we will learn about verbs.
Language Arts Centers- This weeks centers will be reading and creating correct sentences, sight words around the room, word family endings such as -an, -ap, -at.
Math- This week we will continue Chapter 6 – Subtraction and we will have our test on Friday, January 15th .
Math Centers- This week we will do math centers. Two to three times a week we will break into smaller groups and each group will focus on a math topic we have learned or are learning. These topics include numbers 1-14, addition, and subtraction!
Jesus Time- We will continue to read our Children’s Beginner Bible Stories that they love and watch videos on the stories we read to follow-up on what we read and understand each story a little more!
Social Studies: We will discuss and watch videos on Martin Luther King Jr.. We will brainstorm words that we think of when we think of MLK and make a MLK web with those words and discuss the amazing and influential impact he had on our world.
Science: This week we will continue to discuss why animals hibernate and migrate.
