Welcome back to a new week! Thank you, veterans, for your service. May we all be mindful of your sacrifice as we enjoy our day off on Friday. Here are the updates for the week.

6th Religion

This week we will look at what the Israelites experienced in the wilderness. We will study the Tabernacle, which was their portable tent temple, and how God demonstrated His power and how we need to respect His authority in the lesson of Korah’s rebellion. There is no memory verse this week.

6th Social Studies

This week we will be studying the achievements of ancient Egypt, as well as their neighboring kingdom, Kush (also known as Nubia). Toward the end of the week we will start reviewing for their test on Topic 3. The test will be next Wednesday, November 16th.

7th Religion

The students will have their test on Unit 1 next Tuesday, November 15th. We will review this week. The memory verse this week is Mark 10:27.

7th Social Studies

The students will take their test on Topic 2 on Thursday, November 10th. We will spend this week reviewing.

8th Religion

In religion this week, eighth grade will be learning about the tent Tabernacle of the Israelites, and then how God shows his strength and faithfulness with the stories of the Twelve Spies and Korah’s rebellion. The memory verse this week is Exodus 15:13.

8th Social Studies

This week we will continue our study of the West by studying the ranchers, cowhands, and homesteaders of the west, and then how the Native Americans were impacted by the westward movement. AT the end of the week, we will get into the industries and corporations of the Gilded Age.
