Welcome back to a new week at Trinity! Since the students are not in school on Friday, there are a few changes to the usual routines in my classes, so keep reading to see what the updates are for each class.

6th Religion

This week we are studying a few of the prophetic books of the Old Testament. We will study the book of Jonah and learn that we cannot outrun God. We will learn that God truly has a purpose for each of us from Jeremiah, and we will begin our first lesson on the book of Daniel. The memory quiz this week will be on Thursday. The verse is Jeremiah 29:11.

6th Social Studies

Last week the students took their test on ancient Greece, and next week they will begin learning about the Roman Republic. This week, the students will be doing research projects and presentations on figures from Greco-Roman mythology.

7th Religion

This week we will complete unit 3 with a lesson that will explore how we can give back to God, and follow the example of the widow who offered all she had as an offering to God. Then, the students will begin reviewing the unit. The test on unit 3 will be on Tuesday, March 28. The memory verse this week is Psalm 103:13, and the quiz will be on Wednesday.

7th Social Studies

The students will have their test on Topic 5: The New Republic, on Tuesday, March 21st. Extra help will be Monday, 3:15-3:45pm. Then, the students will begin research projects on figures they will learn about in Topic 6, in which they will have to determine if the person should be considered a hero or villain in American history.

8th Religion

In eighth grade religion, the students will complete unit 4 with a lesson on Jonah, which is a great reminder that all people can be forgiven and that all people deserve to hear about Jesus and experience His grace. Then, the students will begin reviewing for the unit 4 test, which will be on Monday, March 27th. The memory verse this week is Romans 3:23-24.

8th Social Studies

This week the students will be reviewing Topic 13: Prosperity and Depression, and the test will be on Thursday, March 23rd. In class last Friday, the students worked on completing questions based on primary source documents about the Great Depression. These will be used to write their essay on the test.
