Hello, everyone! I hope that everyone was successful in digging out from the epic snow storm this past week. Since we are off from school the week of February 15th, this week is mostly, “tying up loose ends.” Here are the updates for this week.

6th Religion

This week we continue our five lesson study of King David. There is so much to take away from his life of faith and repentance. The memory verse for the quiz on Thursday is John 6:40.

6th Social Studies

This week we be very multicultural in social studies. The students will present their group projects on African kings, and then we will celebrate Chinese New Year on Friday. No dim sum (thanks covid), but we will have traditional oranges, watch a dragon procession, and try our hand at Chinese calligraphy.

7th Social Studies

Seventh grade will be reviewing for their test on Chapter 6: The American Revolution on Friday, February 12th. You may view the study guide here.

8th Religion

In eighth grade the students are also studying the life of King David. Their memory verse for the quiz on Friday comes from the writing of his son, King Solomon. The verse is Proverbs 3:5, which is always a great reminder of where to put our trust.

8th Social Studies

Due tot he snow days this past week, the test on chapter 20 was postponed to this Monday, February 8th. You may view the study guide here, and please make sure your child is reviewing over the weekend. The remainder of the week, the students will be working on research projects about African American military involvement, which will lead into our next unit, World war I.
