Welcome back to a new week of school! Here are the updates for this week. Also, a special thank you to all the veterans. I am thankful for your service to our country.

6th Religion

This week we are continuing to study Moses and the story of the Exodus from Egypt. These lessons will deal with the people God puts in our lives to help us accomplish great things. The memory verse for this week. is Numbers 14:8. The quiz will be on Thursday.

6th Social Studies

On Monday, we will be doing an activity in class using watercolors to write in Egyptian hieroglyphics, which was similar to how the Egyptians wrote on papyrus. Then, we will spend the next few days learning about the African kingdom of Kush, which included the well known kingdom of Nubia. The tentative test date for chapter 4, Ancient Egypt , is Friday November 20th. More details will be posted next week.

7th Social Studies

First of all, the seventh grade has been closely watching the presidential election, and parent, thank you for talking to your children about the election. Many have said that this is the first time they have really paid attention to the process, and that they have enjoyed following along. In class, we will be finishing up our study of the 13 English colonies by learning about the Southern Colonies. Then, we will begin reviewing for the chapter test. The test will be on Tuesday, November 17th. You may view the study guide here.

8th Social Studies

Eighth grade is in the process of reviewing chapter 17, the West Transformed. The test will be this Friday, November 13th. You may view the study guide here.

8th Religion

In religion this week we will be studying what life was like for the Israelites while they were in the desert on the way to the Promised Land. We will focus on the incident of the people building the golden calf while Moses received the 10 Commandments, as well as the building of the Tabernacle. The memory verse this week is The memory verse this week is Psalm 122:1. The quiz is Friday.
