Hello Parents! I hope everyone enjoyed the sunshine. This week will be a short week as we have Friday off for the Memorial Day weekend. Please remember to complete the daily attestations each morning prior to coming to school.

This week we will continue practicing for our moving up ceremony. The children are working really hard and they have a great performance in store for you. We will continue learning the letter sounds and counting by 2’s.  The new sight words for this week are “in”, “here” and “help”.  Continuing with our last theme in the Big Day curriculum called “Moving On”, this week’s topic is “I Can Do It” with the big idea being that I will always try my best.  The vocabulary words this week are finish, goal and quit. We will read “The Little Engine That Could” and “Leo the Late Bloomer”.  For math, I will introduce the concept of “taking away”. For Jesus time, we review all our Jesus time songs that we’ve learned throughout the year.

For the next couple of weeks, we will learn all about animals that live in the ocean, focusing on dolphins, sharks and whales. Our Scholastic Weekly Reader, titled “Hello Dolphin” will be the first one we read, followed by “What Big Teeth You Have”.

Our activities this week include:
