Math 6

This week we are finishing up with our Percent unit.  There will be a unit test on Tuesday, 12/15.  The test covers converting percents to fractions, fraction to percents, decimals to percents, and percents to decimals.  Students also need to know how to solve percent word problems. Following the  test, students will be finishing up their percent projects which we started last week.When needed, extra help sessions are by appointment through Zoom.

Math 7

This week we are continuing with our unit on solving equations and inequalities.  This week our focus will be on solving 1 and 2 step inequalities.  Then we will begin reviewing for the unit test, which is on Thursday, 12/17.  The test covers solving 1 step, 2 step, and multi-step equations.  The test also covers solving and graphing inequalities.  When needed, extra help sessions are by appointment through Zoom.

Math 8 (Pre-Algebra)

We are continuing with our chapter on graphing equations.  This week our focus will be on parallel and perpendicular lines.  Following that we will be reviewing for our unit test, which will be on Thursday, 12/17.  The test covers:  graphing a line using a table, x and y intercepts, slope intercept form, using the slope formula, writing an equation given two points, and slopes of parallel and perpendicular lines.  When needed, extra help sessions are by appointment through Zoom.

Algebra

This week we will be starting a new chapter on functions and sequences.  This is chapter 4 in the textbook.  This week our focus will be on domain, range, vertical line test and arithmetic sequences using explicit and recursive formulas.  There will be a quiz on these topics on Friday, 12/18.   When needed, extra help sessions are by appointment through Zoom.
