This will be a shorter week due to the students having no school on Friday. The teachers have a professional development day. The spelling and reading tests will be given on Thursday.

SPELLING- The new words for this week are: key, puppy, penny, bumpy, funny, sandy, my, wash, night, would. The 4 sentences and 3x each are due by WEDNESDAY and the test will be on THURSDAY.

PHONICS- long e sound in words: -ey,-y

READING- We will read nonfiction stories this week. Our focus will be on compound words, adverbs, and base words. The test will be given on Thursday. This is the last week that I will be reading the comprehension part of the test to the children. I will send home some practice reading comprehension stories for the children to practice reading and answering the questions for homework.

MATH- We will finish chapter 10 and have a test on Tuesday (count and represent numbers up to 120). A practice test will be given on Monday.

Reminders: The children will be singing in church this Sunday, at the 9 a.m. service. Mr. DeVries will send home a reminder notice this week.

There is no school on Friday for the students.
