Hello Parents,
As we begin the second week of school, I would like to let you know how proud I am of the children and the progress they have made so far in adjusting to being back at school and getting used to the new routine.
We use the curriculum entitled, Big Day for Pre-K. We are continuing the theme, “Ready for School.” The second topic within this theme is “Making Friends.” We will be learning about squares, the color yellow, the number two and apples. We will be reading several books including: “Friends at School”, “10 Apples on Top” and “A Splendid Friend, Indeed”. The vocabulary for this topic include: friends, help and play. We will also be learning about positional words including: in, on, under, beside and between.
For Jesus time, we will be continuing to sing the song, Jesus loves me. We will also begin the theme of Creation and the 7 days of creation.
This week we will have 2 specials, art and gym. We will also be utilizing the Scholastic Weekly Reader each week with different topics and activities each week.
I will be sending homework packets out on Monday which will be due on Friday.
If you wish to purchase books this month, the Scholastic orders are due on Friday, September 25th. Online ordering through Scholastic is the easiest way to order books for your child, please use the class code written on the magazine that was sent home this week.
