Hello Parents,
I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend! Just a reminder that the school will be closed on Wednesday, November 11th in honor of Veteran’s Day.
Reminders:
– Please remember to complete the daily attestations each morning prior to coming to school.
-I will be putting together an online class book showcasing each child for each family to learn about the students in our class. I’ve only received 7 so far, I will publish the book tomorrow. Please send me a private message answering the following questions about your child:
1. Who is in your family?
2. What do you do for fun at home?
3. What do you want to be when you grow up?
4. What is your favorite color?
5. What is your favorite animal?
We are beginning a new theme, “Our Community” and the first unit is called “Places We Go.” BIG Idea: I visit many places in my community. Knowledge Focus: Children learn about the role of the community in their lives and the importance of good citizenship. Social-Emotional Focus: Responsibility. Vocabulary Theme Words: apartments, block, building, community, firehouse, hospital, library and neighborhood. Story Words: bawl, borrow, buzzes, calm, chattering, errand, fussy, hum, laundromat and settle. Math Words: above, location, near, next to, route and through. Social Studies Words: chore, job, money and responsibility. Science Words: energy, fire, heat and light.
We will be learning the letter Ii, #9, and the color pink.
We will be reading the books “Lola at the Library”, “Knuffle Bunny” and “A Good Night Walk”.
For Jesus time, we will be learning about Joshua and Jericho-Thank you for cities.

Art: Wednesday from 11-11:42
Physical Education: Thursday from 12:30-12:50
Critter Room: Every other Friday
This week we will be reading the “Hooray for Veterans” Scholastic Weekly Reader.
I will be sending homework packets out on Monday which will be due on Friday.
