Hello Parents,
Welcome to the beginning of October!
We will continue the first theme, “Ready for School!” with the final unit called “Getting Along.” BIG Idea: I know how to share, and I care about the feelings of others. Knowledge Focus: Children learn the expectations, routines, and behaviors of school. Social-Emotional Focus: Cooperation. Vocabulary Theme Words: cooperate, share and turns. Story Words: dough, mix, read, study and swing. Math Words: less, more and same. Social Studies Words: crops, market. Science Words: float and sink.
We will be learning the letter Dd, #4, the color blue and triangle.
We will be reading the books “The Little Red Hen”, “How Many Can Play”.
For Jesus time, we will be continuing to sing the songs, “Jesus loves me” and “My God is so Great”. We will also continue learning about Creation and will explore days 6 and 7.
This week we will have art on Wednesday and physical education on Thursday. We will also be reading the “Sing a Song of Autumn” Scholastic Weekly Reader. We will be discussing signs of Autumn and also begin the farm unit on animals.
I will be sending homework packets out on Monday which will be due on Friday.
Thank you to those who placed orders with Scholastic, your books will be sent to the school and I will send them home in your child’s backpack.
