Hello Parents,
I hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy!
Reminders:
-There is no school for the children on Friday, October 23rd, the staff has professional development.
-This Thursday, October 21st is picture day. Please send in picture forms and money prior to Thursday.
– Please remember to complete the daily attestations each morning prior to coming to school.
-If you are planning on sending in goody bags for Halloween, please make sure there are 12 for the entire class and that any treats are store bought and individually wrapped. Trinkets and other non food items are also welcomed!
-I will be putting together an online class book showcasing each child for each family to learn about the students in our class. Please send me a private message answering the following questions about your child:
1. Who is in your family?
2. What do you do for fun at home?
3. What do you want to be when you grow up?
4. What is your favorite color?
5. What is your favorite animal?
We are continuing the theme, “My Family” and the second unit is called “We take care of each other.” BIG Idea: I love my family and they love me. Knowledge Focus: Children learn about family members, family roles, and unique qualities of families. Social-Emotional Focus: Kindness. Vocabulary: Theme Words: caring, cousins, feelings, and love. Story Words: apron, dough, dusk, lawn, machine and zooms. Math Words: length, longer, longest, shorter and shortest.
We will be learning the letter Ff, #6, the color purple and diamond/rhombus.
We will be reading the books “Harold and the Purple Crayon”, Too Many Tamales and “Mama Zooms”.
For Jesus time, we will be learning about how Abraham is blessed.
Specials:
Art: Wednesday from 11-11:42
Physical Education: Thursday from 12:30-12:50
This week we will be reading the “Do you hear the firetruck?” Scholastic Weekly Reader. We were not able to have our special visitor last week due to the rain, so Abraham, the Trinity Comfort Dog will be visiting our class on Tuesday morning.
I will be sending homework packets out on Monday which will be due on Thursday or Monday of next week.
Scholastic orders are due on Friday, October 23rd.
