The 4th graders have a busy week ahead! Please take a moment to review what we will be covering over this week. As a reminder, there is no school on Monday! As the weather is beginning to get chillier please be sure to send your child to school with an appropriate jacket for recess. It is important that students bring in a charged chromebook to school each day. Below you will find what we will be doing for each subject this week:

ELA: This week we will continue with Unit 1 week 3 of the Wonders curriculum. In writing we will begin to analyze student argumentative writing samples, as we prepare to begin writing them in the next 2 weeks. Students will be asked to write an argumentative essay answering the following prompt, Should people be forced to evacuate due to a natural disaster? In grammar we will learn about simple subjects.

Math: This week in Math we finish Module 3 exploring multiplication and division. Please remember to check google classroom for reteach pages, HW, and helpful handouts or videos. There will be a quiz on Friday. There will be no test for Module 3. Students are encouraged to practice their fact fluency each night. It is vital that students are familiar and comfortable with their multiplication facts.

Religion: This week we begin our unit on Prayer. Discussing what prayer is, and how one might pray.

Social Studies: This week we continue Chapter 2, Three Worlds Meet, exploring New York Native Americans, and explorers. Please be on the lookout for information on our first S.S. Project. All needed information can be found on the Google Classroom, and paper copies were sent home. Our New York State Float is due Friday, October 14th.

Science: This week we will continue our first unit in science, exploring the human body, specifically exploring the human eye.

I am looking forward to a fantastic week with a fabulous group of fourth graders.

Blessings,
Ms. Stainkamp
