Mrs. Flomer’s Notes for the week of 1/25/21
Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week!
Spelling- The new words for this week are: time, like, kite, bike, white, drive. The vocabulary (“R” book) words that are on the test are: bird, fly, those, and both. The children will write their spelling words 3x each for homework and write 4 sentences by Thursday. Spelling Test will be Friday.
Phonics- words with long i, kn-, wr-, gn-, -mb
Language Arts: We will read the story Animal Groups. The children will read it again at home. The Reading test will be given this Friday. We will focus on suffixes -er and
-est, and the verb “be”. We will finish the 3rd reading book as we are halfway through the reading curriculum, and we’ll begin the 2nd reading workbook (Readers Notebook) next week.
Math- Chapter 7- Comparing numbers
Social Studies- Unit 3- Life Long Ago
Religion- Jesus’ Miracles
Weekly Reader- The Coolest Bears
Science- Mystery Science lesson
1AA News
This week is Lutheran Schools Week. It is an opportunity to celebrate with almost 2,000 schools across the country and be thankful for our own Trinity Lutheran School. In addition to other activities, we will be collecting new socks for the homeless shelter and non-perishable food for the food pantry.
Please continue to check with your child to see if he/she needs any supplies (especially pencils, erasers, and stick glue).
Pizza envelopes should be handed in by Thursday morning!
