Welcome to Mrs. Flomer’s Notes
Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week. Test dates have been changed due to the 2 snow days!
Spelling- The new words for this week are: so, go, home, hole, no, rope, joke, bone, stove, poke. Since there are 10 (long o) spelling words, I will only be including 2 of the “R” book words (around and because) on the spelling test. They are on the spelling list. They need to be able to read all of the “R” book words fluently for the vocabulary portion of the reading test. The children will write their spelling words 3x each and write their sentences by next Tuesday (extended because of the snow days). Encourage your child to use at least 5 words in each sentence. Spelling test will be next Wednesday, 2/10 instead of this Friday.
Phonics- long o and u
Language Arts- questions; suffixes; narrative writing
Reading: We have started our 4th reading book. The story this week is Let’s go to the Moon! Please have your child read it at home before the test. We have completed the first of two reading workbooks, which will be sent home. The “R” book words are: around, bring, show, because, carry, think, before, and light. The reading test will be given next Wednesday (2/10).
Math- We will have a Math test this Friday on comparing numbers. Practice test will be given on Thursday.

Pizza envelopes due tomorrow!
Reminder: We are going to have a Valentine card exchange on February 12th, as we did for Christmas cards. A class list was sent home last week.
