Welcome to Mrs. Flomer’s class notes!

Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week!

Spelling- The words for this week are: if, is, him, rip, fit, pin. The children will write their spelling words 3x each for homework by Wednesday in their “S” books. There will be a Spelling test on Friday.

Phonics- We will focus on the sounds of r, h, z, and short i

Language Arts- possessive nouns; proofreading; captions

Reading: We will read the story The Storm this week. The children will bring home their Reading books on Wednesday to read the story again at home. The ‘R” book words are: for, he, have, look, too, what.
The children should be able to read this story to you. There will be a Reading test on Friday.

Math- We will continue with addition. There will be a test next Tuesday, 10/5, on Chapter 1. The children will take a practice test on Monday, 10/4 and you can use that to review with your child. We will then begin chapter 2 on subtraction.

Religion- Read and discuss the stories of “Abraham and Sarah” and “Isaac blesses His Sons”

Science- Why do seasons change?

Social Studies- Fact/Fiction

Weekly Reader- “Keep Trying”

1AA News

It was great to see so many parents at our Zoom “Back to School Night”! Thank you for attending. Please don’t hesitate to email me with any questions or concerns.

I am asking all parents to email me when you first view my weekly blog on Trinity’s website so that I know you can access it and are reading it each week. I will update it every Monday with information about what the children are doing in class, test dates, and important information.

Encourage your child to READ every night to strengthen their skills.

Tests: Tuesday-Math Test on chapter 1: Addition
Friday- Spelling test: short i words
Reading test on “The Storm”
