Mrs. Flomer’s class notes for the week of 5/10/21
I hope all the moms had a fabulous Mother’s Day!
Spelling- The words for this week are: mix, mixed, hop, hopped, hope, hoping, run, running, use, used, surprised, teacher. There will be a spelling test on Friday. Sentences and 3x each are due by Thursday.
Phonics -ed and -ing endings; long e spelling patterns- y,ie
The children will learn when to double the consonant in a word to add -ed or –ing, and also when to drop the “e” at the end of a word to add -ed or -ing.
Language Arts- exclamations
Reading: We will read the story The Dot this week. The children should read it again at home. The Reading test will be given on Friday. The children will read the test totally on their own for the last 5 stories in book 6. I will read the directions only on each page.
Math- chapter 12- geometry
Social Studies- Book 5- Our Government
Weekly Reader- Tree Houses
