I hope everyone had a great weekend!
Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week:
Phonics- We will focus on the sounds of l, d, n, and w.
Language Arts- We are still reviewing skills that we need to know to move ahead in first grade.
Math- Making a ten to add; doubles; using different addition strategies
Religion- Read and discuss the stories of “Cain and Abel” and “Noah’s Ark”
Science- Animal offspring
Social Studies- Good Citizenship
1AA News
Tomorrow is Back to School Night for the parents at 7 PM. I will be giving information about first grade curriculum, schedules, and procedures. I hope to see everyone there!
Please encourage your child to read every night. I send home decodable readers each week (stories which focus on the sound/concept we are working on that week). These stories can be kept at home after your child reads them fluently.
Remember to send in your child’s pizza money by Thursday morning of each week. The count is done on Thursday afternoons.
Book orders are due tomorrow.
