Welcome to Mrs. Flomer’s class notes.
I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

Spelling- The words for the lesson that we started last week are: sad, sadly, slow, slowly, dust, dusty, trick, tricky, help, helpful, beautiful, listen. We will have our spelling test on Thursday, 6/2.

Reading: There is a test on Lesson 29 (started last week) this Thursday, 6/2. The children should know the suffixes –ful, -ly, and –y and adverbs. The story is Hi! Fly Guy.

Math- We are on the last chapter in our Math books, lesson 12: 2D shapes

Religion- We will continue with the last book in our religion curriculum (Book 9).

Weekly Reader- Butterflies

This is another short week due to Monday’s holiday, but it is a busy week! Wednesday is Field Day, as you all know from receiving Mr. Mallon’s emails. It is a dress down day and the children will wear red or white (our school colors) depending on which team they are on.

There is no pizza this Friday due to the picnic we will be having outside in our courtyard, with barbecued hot dogs and hamburgers!

Please remind your child to bring a sweater to school in case they get a little chilly with the AC running in the classroom, now that the warm weather is here. I keep it on 70+ degrees but some children still ask for sweaters.

I will be giving benchmark tests during the next 2 weeks to see how much growth there has been in the students’ reading and math skills. There is no way to study for these assessments.
The children have come so very far this year!
