Mrs. Flomer’s Notes for the week of January 10th.
There have been a lot of changes last week and this week due to remote learning and a snow day. We were originally going to have our reading and spelling tests on Wednesday for the story “Seasons” but I am moving it to Friday and the remote learners will take them when they return on Tuesday.
Spelling- The words for lesson 13 are: ship, shop, which, when, whip, fish, down, green, open, fall. The children will write their spelling words 3x each for homework and write 3 sentences by Wednesday. Spelling Test will be given on Friday.
Phonics- digraphs wh, ph, sh and word endings
Language Arts- subject/verb
Reading: We will read the story Seasons. The children will read it again at home. The “R” book words that they have to read on the test are: down, green, open, fall, grow, yellow, goes, new. We will focus on cause/effect. Reading test will be given on Friday.
Math- chapter 5- related facts
Religion- Stories about Jesus’ life
Social Studies- maps and models
Science- Ocean waves
Send in pizza envelopes by Thursday morning!
