Welcome to week 3! I am so excited that we are still in school and everyone is remaining safe and healthy. I truly love being a preschool teacher and being in the classroom and getting to know the children is wonderful!
Our topic for this week is “Learning Together”. We will read The Pledge of Allegiance, My Friends, Mouse’s First Day of School, and Friends at School. Our new vocabulary words will be: learn, partners, and together.
In math this week we will learn: shorter, taller, longer. We will also review #3, green, and rectangle.
This week we begin learning a letter a week, starting with Aa. We will hear a short story called “Apple Auntie”, and sing a silly Aa song. We will also practice writing the letter A.
Continuing with our apple theme this month, we will be having a visit from Johnny Appleseed on Monday! We will also taste red, green, and yellow apples and decide which one is our favorite. We will be scientists and test whether apples sink or float. We will plant apple seeds and watch them sprout over the next few weeks and we will bury a piece of apple in the dirt and watch it decompose.
For Jesus time we will continue learning about creation, this week focusing on days 4, 5, and 6. We have been learning a fun creation song. We will sing it and post it on Class Dojo when we learn the whole thing.
