Welcome to another happy, healthy week of pre-k. This week is another short week as we are closed Friday the 23rd for professional development for the teachers.
This week starts theme 2 week 2 in our Big Day curriculum, continuing with the the theme “My Family” and focusing on the topic “We Take Care of Each Other”. Our new vocabulary is: caring, feelings, love, and cousins. We will read Mama Zooms, Too Many Tamales (we will read and watch the video for this book), and My Day from A to Z.
Our letter this week will be Dd. We will read “Ditto Dog” and learn a silly Dd song. We will practice writing the letter D and we will make a D is for Donut project.
In math we will discuss “How Long is it?” We will use the words: length, longer, longest, shorter, shortest. We will review #6, purple, and diamond/rhombus. We will read Harold and the Purple Crayon and then we will make our own purple adventures.
For Jesus time we will learn more about Abraham and how God goes with us wherever we go.
We will continue to learn about farm animals this week and we will make pink, muddy piggies. We will also learn a fun 3 Little Pigs song.
I will be sending home Scholastic book order forms on Monday. Please order online or return them to me with a check by next Monday.
